Do not use paint with silicone based repellants in them which are designed to not let things stick to them (dust, dirt, debris, etc.) and resist stains, it will also not allow the vinyl to stick.

For Example do not use:  “Behr Ultra Stain-Blocking Paint and Primer in one” or  Valspar Signature superior Paint and Primer –  please avoid.

In general a cheap oil based paint is best, vs a more expensive latex paint.
